I didn't really get the appeal of playing through a full game as a goalkeeper - which you can now also do as your Pro career. But when you nail the perfectly placed ball, it's really satisfying. it can be a LOT of fun, if a little frustrating at first.

Yeah, it's very hard to get the hang of, but I totally recommend playing against a friend with full manual settings because you really have to be super accurate with your aiming, timing and power. You had a lot of fun using full manual control right? I'm proud you didn't choose to use the two-button control method. Now I'll admit that I'm not enough of a football fanatic to appreciate the subtleties of a sim like this, so I did play with all the control options set to 'assist'. Players do cheeky little back-heels or flick the ball on to teammates, all just through sweet timing with the controls. All the player animations are liquid smooth and you can really get a rhythm going. Now, when it comes to presentation, FIFA still looks amazingly realistic. I loved the way these pop up like unlocking an Xbox achievement - it's so satisfying as you rack them up. Yeah, you really feel rewarded for performing like a real footballer - it's not always about scoring and it's great that the game recognises that. You have to really work for your improvements now and it makes it that little bit more immersive.
